1st TP4EU project conference in Montpellier

From 7 to 9 June the 1st conference of the Third Places for Europe project (www.TP4EU.org) is being held in Montpellier. After two years of taking part in the international Steering Committee, which also included representatives from Slovenia, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Romania, the Netherlands, Burkina Faso and, of course, France, the opening of the first day called for summing up in a few minutes the activities and conclusions of that work, which speak to the shared values of third places in Europe. France, with over 3,600 such spaces, of which 350 are fab labs alone, wants to raise awareness of the importance of these spaces at EU level in three directions: as part of new economies and distributed production, as part of strengthening communities and democracy, and for presenting cultural and artistic content. It was an exceptional experience to take part, and also to share our own experience of the past 10 years. It has been an exceptional honour to be part of this story, into which our friends from Vulca – European Program brought us, especially Alex Rousselet, and we hope for further cooperation with our friends from France, and in the new activities of the TP4EU project.
