From 26 to 28 September 2024, Zagreb hosted the first international conference on science outreach with an emphasis on building local ecosystems for STEM as a driver of development, under the name “SCOPE – Science Connecting People”.

The conference was officially opened at the Europe House in Zagreb in the presence of envoys of the Croatian Government, Parliament, the City of Zagreb and the European Commission Representation, who lent their support to the initiative, as well as envoys of the National Foundation for Civil Society Development, with whose support the conference was made possible (through the Thematic Systemic Supportscheme forthe area “STEM as a driver of development”https://arhiv.fablab.hr/tsp/). The second day of the conference was held at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum with the participation of numerous Croatian and international panellists. The next conference will be held in June 2025 in Garešnica, in cooperation with the Natura 2000 Visitor Centre and the Garešnica Infinity Festival.

As the closing part of the conference, on 28 September the Maker Expo Zagreb event, promoting STEM, was held on the premises of Središće Primary School.
