Educational Day held on 1 October at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum as part of the SCOPE project
Organised by the FabLab association, an "Educational Day"was held on 1 October 2021 at the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum.
The programme of the event consisted of three connected parts: a meeting of science popularisers, a round table on innovative approaches to (and in) education, and a coordination meeting of the SCOPE project.
The aim of the meeting of science popularisers was to bring together representatives of organisations engaged in popularising science and the STEM field in Croatia, in order to network and to open up opportunities for joint cooperation. The event gathered participants from a range of institutions: civil society organisations, primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and also the business sector.
The round table addressed the question of institutional and non-institutional education and of how to connect the two. Examples of good practice were also presented, and participants exchanged experiences from their practical work. Inspiring speakers shared their thoughts, experiences and insights with the participants: Korado Korlević from the Višnjan Observatory, Casey Shea from the Maker Educator Collective in the USA, Piet Grymonprez, founder of the MyMachine movement, Alexandre Boutaud from France, and Roberto Vdović, founder of FabLab Croatia.
The programme concluded with a coordination meeting of the SCOPE project, at which the project partners also signed the Agreement on joining the thematic network "STEM as a Driver of Society".
