On 30 December 2021 FabLab became a partner on yet another STEM popularisation project.

The president of the Institute of Entrepreneurial Education and Innovation, Zrinka Valetić, signed on behalf of the project consortium the Grant Agreement for the BIOPLAnet project, financed from the European Social Fund under the call “Strengthening the capacities of civil society organisations for the popularisation of STEM”. Besides FabLab, the project partners are Carpe Diem, an association for encouraging and developing the creative and social potential of children, young people and adults; the association for the promotion of a creative and healthy life Otok; the Association for Creative Social Work; the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Architecture; and the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum.

The project will deliver the following activities:

1. Deliver 20 training sessions aimed at strengthening STEM skills and teaching skills

2. Carry out four study visits

3. Take part in 22 national and international fairs and conferences

4. Set up six sets of interactive popular-science installations

5. Hold six presentations of the permanent displays

6. Purchase a vehicle and convert it into a mobile centre for raising awareness of the circular economy, with an emphasis on plastic recycling

7. Deliver five multi-day interactive workshops

8. Organise a summer camp

9. Deliver 50 one-day events/workshops across Croatia

10. Organise the BIOPLANet Fest conference.
