From 28 to 30 September 2021, another STEM Week was held in Zagreb, organised by FabLab and hosted in the premises of the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum.

The STEM Week programme is already well known to education professionals. The workshops enable them to acquire new skills and provide an incentive to develop new, innovative extracurricular activities, which contributes to sustainability, because it is education professionals themselves who will pass the knowledge and skills they gain on to new generations.

This year the programme began with a lecture by Alexandre Boutaud from France, who presented the work of the Vulca European Mobility programme, after which staff and volunteers of the Višnjan Astronomical Society held workshops with education professionals on the theme of “Mini projects as an introduction to the scientific method”.

The second day began with a video call from the USA with Mr Adam Maltese, who presented the Innovation in Education initiative. Three blocks of “hands-on” workshops were then run by Mr Casey Shea from the Maker Educator Collective.

The third day’s programme consisted of a video call from Italy in which Sara Sossiand Carlo Fonda presented the work of SciFabLab from Trieste, and of three blocks of workshops based on the design thinking methodology, held by Pokretači promjena.
