Workshop in Slavonski Brod
We spent April Fools’ Friday in Slavonski Brod, at the Technical School, where we presented our STEMerica project and ran workshops as part of STEAM Week. The pupils were the focus and the main actors of the event: they presented their inventions and experiments to us and taught us through fun activities and workshops.
At the event FabLab explained how an electrical circuit works and presented virtual reality technology, which the participants used to try their hand at modelling and drawing. We also presented the vinyl cutter, a computer-controlled foil cutter – participants came up with their own designs, then digitised and cut them, and finally transferred the design onto textile.

Alongside our workshops, our partner the POI Institute showed, through the BioPLAnet project, how to cook bioplastic, recycle bottle caps and turn them into spinning tops and similar shapes. At the event you could play football using robots built by the pupils, make your own soap, look at holograms, get a little “jolt” of electricity and much more.
See what it was like in the photos and in the TV report 🙂
