On Saturday, 11 April 2026, Srednja škola Dugo Selo held an Open Day, at which the FabLab association took part with demonstrations of digital fabrication, 3D printing, robotics, biomaterials and an experimental approach to learning. Visitors got to know contemporary technologies through practical examples and to see how ideas develop from concept to finished product.
The programme was further enriched by IPOI, Nikola Tesla Network, Udruga Profesor Baltazar (UPB), IPZ – AI STEM educators, Virtualci, SFERIA, Akcelerator, Krijesnica, Gradionica and INNCRO-IT, who presented different approaches to learning through science, technology and creative work.
The event is one of the first steps in the collaboration between FabLab Zagreb and Srednja škola Dugo Selo, established through a Cooperation Agreement aimed at developing STEAM skills and strengthening the link between education and the community. The collaboration began on 6 March 2026 with STEM sessions under the ERASMUS+ programme, attended by 25 students from Croatia, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg and Romania.
With the aim of strengthening local STEM ecosystems and encouraging cooperation between civil society organisations, educational institutions and the local community, this work is carried out with the support of the National Foundation for Civil Society Development through the Thematic Systemic Support for the area of “STEM as a driver of development”.
