🔹 DiSTT Module 2 – Gimnazija Nova Gradiška (1st meeting) 🔹 On 9 April 2026 the first meeting of Module 2 – “Patterns with purpose – 2D technologies” was held at Gimnazija Nova Gradiška In the introductory part of the session the students got to know the basics of 2D and 3D representation, the geometry of patterns and the basic principles of 2D digital fabrication. The emphasis was on understanding how a functional spatial form can be developed out of a flat shape. In the practical part the students: assembled an armchair from 2D elements, linking 2D shapes with 3D form made their first cuts and engravings on the laser (making keyrings) got to know the basic laser workflow explored the moiré effect through overlapping and shifting patterns Through a combination of theory and hands-on work, the students gained insight into how an idea develops through sketch, pattern and digital fabrication. We look forward to the continuation, where they will develop their own ideas and prepare them for further realisation within the module.
