CENTRINNO: another Horizon 2020 project approved
While we are busy fitting out the new space, we received word that another Horizon 2020 project has been approved: the Centrinno project (New CENTRalities in INdustrial areas as engines for inNOvation and urban transformation), in which we are a partner. Besides us, the University of Zagreb | Faculty of Architecture is also a partner, with Fab Lab Barcelona as coordinator.
The project will be contracted over the coming months, and more about its activities in early 2020.
The Centrinno project deals with the urban transformation of industrial areas through innovative spaces. We are particularly pleased that, alongside the pilot location tied to Fab City Zagreb, where we cooperate with the Green and Blue Sesvete Association, we also managed to propose the City of Zadar as a follower city of the Fab City Global Initiative, which underpins this project and with which the Fablab association has a signed cooperation agreement. We believe this will also be an incentive for the City of Zagreb to recognise the activities we have carried out so far, such as STEAM week through the STEAM Croatia activities, Maker Faire Zagreb with almost 11,000 visitors, as part of the Fabfest activities developed within the Interreg Central Europe FabLabNet project, as well as the workshops we run as a result of the DOIT Europe project.
This is only part of the activities aimed at pupils, teachers, local communities and future entrepreneurs in the City of Zagreb; there are also Zadar, Vukovar, Slavonski Brod and many other parts of Croatia, such as the island of Prvić and the Biševo Island Artist Residency community.
We also thank our large network of partners: associations, primary and secondary schools, faculties and local communities all over Croatia, and especially the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum for the cooperation so far, because without all of them none of this would be possible, and it is for them that we do it all.
