World Youth Skills Day
In 2014 the United Nations General Assembly declared 15 July World Youth Skills Day. Today, when children all over the world have been forced into mass learning from home because of the coronavirus, it seems even more important to pay attention to the variety of skills and knowledge that society can offer them so they can more easily find „their own path” and a life in which they will be able to use all of their potential. At Fablab we recognised the problem of reduced access to extracurricular resources and programmes for children whose schooling moved into the online sphere for a longer period – and as a partner we joined the implementation of the Virtual Art and Culture project, which seeks to address these problems. We hope that we will come out of these extraordinary circumstances even stronger, and that young people will be able to greet their next World Youth Skills Day with even more available content through which they can freely develop their interests.
