DFA workshops within the DiSTT project
The FabLab association, working with its members and with the support of INNCRO-IT, is announcing a series of workshops in Slavonia within the DiSTT (Digital Skills Transformation for Tomorrow) project.
The project includes pilot activities of the Designing the Future Academy (DFA), an innovative educational programme aimed at developing pupils digital, technical and entrepreneurial competences through hands-on work, modern technologies and project-based learning.
The workshops start at the end of February and run until the end of May. Over that period, five thematic modules will be piloted across Slavonia, with the aim of testing the methodology and adapting the content to participants needs.
Programme structure – 5 modules
The workshops are designed as self-contained units that take pupils from an idea to a functional prototype, using advanced digital fabrication technologies and innovative materials.
1. Think Fast, Build Smart
Developing ideas, rapid prototyping and using modern digital fabrication tools.
2. Patterns with Purpose
Understanding design, patterns and functionality through precision machining technologies.
3. Digital Bodies
Exploring the meeting of technology and the human body through digital modelling and interactive systems.
4. Smart Interactions
Developing smart systems and interactions using sensors, electronics and programming.
5. Innovative Materials
Getting to know innovative and sustainable materials and applying them in developing functional solutions.
Based on the experience gained through delivering the project, we believe pupils will find it extremely interesting and useful to get to know a range of STEM activities, because hands-on work with advanced technologies and innovative materials will give them the chance to develop their digital, technical and entrepreneurial skills. The aim of these workshops is not only to broaden their technical competences, but also to encourage creativity, teamwork and problem-solving through project-based learning.
The DiSTT project allows participants to acquire, through practical activities, skills that are key to the future challenges of the technological and business world, laying the foundations for a successful entry into the world of digital innovation and sustainable solutions. We are looking forward to the results of the pilot programme and believe these workshops will be an excellent opportunity to develop young talent in Slavonia.
