Last week (6 March 2025) we held the first meeting with group B at Gimnazija “Matija Mesić” in Grad Slavonski Brod, službena stranica , as part of Module 1 – Think fast, build smart, which forms part of the DiSTT project’s programme of educational sessions, with the support of the INNCRO-IT association. During this introductory meeting the students got to know the basics of the design thinking approach – a method used in developing products, technologies and innovations. We talked about how to recognise the real problem, how an idea comes about and how an idea is turned into a concrete solution. Through examples and joint discussion the students analysed various everyday situations and considered how certain problems might be solved through technology, design or new products. In the second half of the session they began working in pairs on their own ideas. They defined the problem they want to solve, the user the solution is intended for and the basic concept of the idea, and they also got to know tools used in the early development of projects, such as the morphological matrix, the requirements list and functional decomposition of a system. Ahead of them now is a short period of independent work until the next meeting, during which they will develop their ideas further and prepare them for the continuation of the session.
