FabLab at the Vulca Seminar in Portugal
Last week the EUROPEAN VULCA SEMINAR 2022 – FUNDÃO – PORTUGAL took place, this time in the picturesque town of Fundão in Portugal. Vulca seminars are part of the Vulca Tours, which allow makers across Europe and beyond to network and build a self-sustaining community. Vulca strives for decentralisation and for highlighting the different areas of activity within the European maker community.
The seminar programme was rich in panels and round tables on a range of maker-culture topics and included a host of interactive workshops. Perhaps even more important than the debates, lectures, discussions and workshops themselves is precisely that focus on networking individuals and organisations from different fields of interest and different parts of the world.
As part of the STEMerica project, FabLab Zagreb also gave several talks. The association president, Roberto Vdović, spoke about the STEMerica project and about running PopUpLab activities in rural parts of Croatia, weaving the project presentation into the talk “Makers mindset for self-sufficient remote areas”, while association volunteer Mia Krakan gave a presentation on “Building creative confidence”. The president of our partner association Institute for Entrepreneurial Education and Innovation, Zrinka Valetić, spoke about the BIOPLAnet project, with whom we always enjoy working ![]()
With the traditional snacks of inland Portugal and plenty of interesting people, the seminar was an excellent experience and we are looking forward to the upcoming sixth Vulca Seminar! 🙂

The project was co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund.
