The Night of Science 2026, held on 22 May in the courtyard of Janko Leskovar Primary School in Pregrada, showed once again how important science, research and creativity are for the community and for the education of children and young people.

Over three hours, visitors were able to explore more than fifteen engaging stations – from natural cosmetics and the Da Vinci laboratory to a drone arena, cryptography and generative artificial intelligence. The event drew a large number of children, parents and visitors who, through interactive content, could learn, explore and take part in STEM activities in a fun and accessible way.

The FabLab Croatia association took part with STEM activities too, presenting the world of digital fabrication, 3D printers, robotics, biomaterials and an experimental approach to learning. Visitors had the chance to get to know modern technologies through hands-on examples and interactive demonstrations.

The Night of Science is organised to encourage creative learning, to develop curiosity and a spirit of enquiry, and to create a space in which pupils can share knowledge, develop new ideas and take an active part in the life of their community. Events like this show just how important it is to give children and young people access to activities that make learning vivid, engaging and inspiring.

With the aim of strengthening local STEM ecosystems and encouraging cooperation between civil society organisations, educational institutions and the local community, FabLab activities are delivered with the support of the National Foundation for Civil Society Development through the Thematic Systemic Support scheme for the area “STEM as a driver of development”.
