Maker Faire Zagreb 2023

This autumn FabLab is preparing the fifth Maker Faire Zagreb, scheduled for 30 September and 1 October in Sesvete!

For those unfamiliar with the concept, Maker Faire is a combination of a science and technology fair, a local exhibition and an entirely new kind of experience. The event brings together all sorts of enthusiasts from the worlds of technology, craft, education, art and engineering. In short, Maker Faire is a meeting place for everyone who calls themselves a “maker”.

The idea for the Maker Faire event came from Make magazine in 2006, in the heart of technological Silicon Valley, after years of reflection and initiatives. The main aim of the fair is to look to the future and to bring together and showcase both individuals and larger collectives exploring innovative technologies and forms for the benefit of all. Maker Faire highlights innovation and experimentation in fields as varied as science, engineering, art, performance and handcraft.

This gathering attracts interesting and curious people, always ready to learn and to share what they know. At Maker Faire, makers present their projects and talk about them with others, with particular emphasis on “do it yourself” (DIY) activities that are often not the focus of traditional events in the world of art, science or craft. The event puts projects and ideas we do not encounter every day at the centre of attention – for two days at least.

For anyone working on similar projects or crafts, Maker Faire is a chance to show your work to a wider audience at the big fifth Maker Faire Zagreb 2023!

We invite all interested exhibitors to fill in the application at this link (https://zagreb.makerfaire.com/hr/poziv-za-makere/prijava/) and become part of the maker community; we invite all curious minds to get in touch at info@fablab.hr and join the organising team; and of course, we invite all of you to visit us and let your imagination run wild!
