Open Days of the Ruđer Bošković Institute

Last Friday, 10 June 2022, we attended the official opening of the Open Days of the Ruđer Bošković Institute – ODI 2022. We took part in the talks and in a tour of the workshops the RBI had prepared for children, young people and other visitors to this year’s Open Day.
In his talk “How do we keep young researchers?”, the RBI’s director, Dr David Matthew Smith, introduced us to the researchers’ work so far and to the Institute’s many international successes. He also focused on the efforts the RBI is making to improve the conditions researchers work in, to enable them to gain knowledge through international exchanges, and to develop staff members’ soft skills – all with the aim of keeping young researchers.
The second talk was given by Dr Marko Košiček, who presented the RBI’s work in popularising science, through the many projects it runs with companies, associations and foundations. We were especially pleased that the projects presented included “Znanost spaja ljude” (Science Connecting People, SCOPE), led by the FabLab association with the Institute as a research partner.
